Even as I child I loved to write letters. I had numerous pen pals around the world. Long before the internet, I created a monthly newsetter on my first Apple computer. It included family updates, pictures and recipe exchanges. My distribution list was made up of siblings, cousins and aunts and uncles. It was sent snail mail to some 40 different households. Yes I am from a big family. It was fun and helped us all stay connected.

Today Facebook and online newsletters having left old fashioned letters and printed newsletters in the dust.  I enjoy Facebook and newsletters and also love blogging.  I think it’s also a wonderful means of staying in touch.

I hope you enjoy these blogs posts!

Instant Flat Tummy Tip #3 – Move It

OMG have you ever pulled that cute little black dress or your favorite skinny jeans out of the closet to wear out to dinner only to discover it fits nice – well almost nice, except for the tummy bulge? Yep! It’s happened to me too and not because I had put on any weight but because of bloat! Being bloated can be caused by a number of things and causes our system to bog down. Facilitating the elimination from our large intestine and the bowels can help get rid of toxic “dead weight” that is bogging down our body and…

Do you want beautiful, glowing skin?

Like beauty, skin issues are definitely not skin-deep.  The largest organ inside our body is the liver, but truly the largest organ of the body is our skin.  The surface area of an average adult is covered with more than 21 square feet – and it is about 6-10% of the body weight (approximately 8 lbs.); the liver accounts for only 2.5% of body weight.  Skin considered an organ due to its very specific functions: it helps maintain our body temperature and protects the other organs from bacteria. It also reflects the condition inside our body, holds everything in and…

Sugar cravings? Oh, the yin of it!

Okay, time to fess up! Do you keep a stash of your candy hidden so the kids aren’t tempted to get into it? And then do you eat it on the sly so no one sees you?  It’s okay! Admit it. I used to do that too! I mean it was just easier keeping that big heart box of expensive dark chocolate raspberry truffles from my husband out of sight  – so the kids weren’t tempted to get into it.  At least that’s what I told myself.  Do you do the same?  I mean after all, it yours and the kids…

Found both outside and inside the cells of our bodies, water is critical as it forms part of the blood. This fluid in the blood carries oxygen and important nutrients to feed the tissues of our glands, bones, and muscle.   As the fluid is released from the capillaries into surrounding tissues, the cells are nourished and eventually should return to the capillaries.  When it doesn’t, the fluid remains…

Ban Belly Bloat

How many times have you pulled on that knit dress, gone to zip up your jeans, or slipped into your bathing suit only to discover your tummy was pouched out when it wasn’t that way two weeks ago? Or even, two days ago. You go get on the scale and it numbers haven’t moved…so what’s that all about? Or you’ve been this way for so long you just think you’re fat around the middle. Often we may feel (and look) “big” in the middle, not because of fat (thankfully!), but because of what’s going on inside our stomach. Keeping our…
