Summer is the only time for vacations!
While the season for family vacations may be soon be coming to an end, summer isn’t the only time we travel. You may have a long-awaited fall vacation coming up, a family reunion, or you are already planning your winter ski trip.
Over the past couple of summers, I’ve helped many of many of my clients with another component of their trips – how to eat healthy while away from home so they could stay on track!
As a health coach, I have such a sense of pride when my clients share that while they were away from home they had no problem skipping junk food and they found it easy to avoid fast food. I love that they’re proud of themselves for being able to eat healthfully, maintain their goals, and still have a wonderful time.
I love that they came back home from a trip with no regrets!
You can do it too.
It’s hard enough to figure out how to stay on track with eating healthy at home. Throw a trip your way and it becomes an even bigger challenge. I mean, let’s face it, if you’re on the road or in a strange town, you don’t have your favorite stores or restaurants. And, eating in hotel restaurants, or any restaurant for that matter, can be a huge challenge and have as much of an impact on your waistline as your wallet.
Learning to eat healthy while away from home can be a challenge. Understanding how to navigate or avoid road blocks is key.
Your regular healthy habits can easily be knocked off track when you’re skipping time zones or even just being in a different place. So, no matter where you’re going, you’re probably going to appreciate some quick and easy ideas. Going on a trip doesn’t mean you must set aside all the progress you’ve made – nor does it mean you need to sacrifice the enjoyment you’re looking forward to with your upcoming trip!
